Course Access: Lifetime
Course Overview

The safety and security for both staff and students is of paramount importance to many schools and districts, but has your school or district done all it can to assess and help eliminate potential risks? While no plan can be 100-percent effective, there are steps you can take to help minimize and address potential risks. In part two of this two-part series, join Brent Maguire as he discusses ways in which your school can improve security, including by effectively controlling and monitoring access to school grounds and classrooms. As part of this discussion, Brent will cover how to increase school security using CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) concepts and explore how you might implement these concepts. He will also provide an overview of other physical security measures such as communication capabilities, intrusion detection systems, perimeter security, after-hours security, and protective lighting. Part 2 of a 2-part series Presented by Brent Maguire, Safety Consultant and Former Police Detective and DARE Officer
