This course examines the gifts that are manifested through the Holy Spirit. These gifts are wisdom, understanding, knowledge, right judgment, courage, reverence, wonder and awe. These gifts help one listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, luring one to make good choices, live good lives, and be true followers of Christ.

The Apostle Paul states, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant” (1Cor. 12:1 KJV). There are seven special gifts that the Holy Spirit showers upon us.  These gifts are freely given and fill us with grace to help us and to benefit the whole church community.  An examination of each gift is elaborated to extend our understanding.

Our course objective(s) are understanding The Holy Spirit has a divine purpose; an identity; specific work; and verifiable gifts. This course examines the gifts, what they are, how they work and how the gifts empower us to live the Christlike life. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” (Acts 1:9) (KJV).

Students who successfully meet the requirements will be able to: 

1. Explain the gifts of the Holy Spirit and describe their application in daily life.
2. Biblically support the assertion that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from salvation.
